Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's 'Pushpa 2' has extended its 'rule' over the North American box office. The film stormed the worldwide box office and debuted with a staggering collection of an estimated $9.3 million on its debut weekend.

The biggest of the many newcomers was the Indian action pic 'Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2', which earned an impressive $9.3 million gross, according to a report on box office mojo. The Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer was released across 1,245 theatres and recorded an average collection of $7,469. The report further adds that the Indian movie was the highest-earning new release of the weekend.

Reportedly, the film made a splash at the box office, earning an estimated $1.5 million by Day 2. On Saturday, numbers reportedly rose to an estimated $3.5 million and the film went on to finally score $9.3 million by the end of its first weekend. According to early estimates by Deadline, the film was tracking a $10 million opening weekend collection in the US.

Although the collections are impressive, the film has a long way to go before it beats the likes of 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', 'Kalki 2898 AD' and 'Pathaan' which currently occupy the top 3 spots on the list of highest-earning Indian films in North America.

'Pushpa 2' now holds the title of the second-largest opening weekend of 2024, trailing only the Prabhas starrer, 'Kalki 2898 AD'. However, on the global stage, the film has surpassed the sci-fi movie, to achieve the biggest opening weekend for an Indian film this year, amassing an impressive $19+ million in overseas markets in just over four days of its release.hello
